I made this yummy recipe for a holiday party earlier this month. It was one of those moments when you realize that Christmas calories do count and I thought everyone would appreciate something that both nourishing and tasty.
I'm one of those cooks who likes to take a recipe and only use it as a guide-- making my own modifications. Next time, I'll try and follow as a recipe to the "T" so I can share or at least remember what I actually did to make it taste so good.
For now, though, this basic recipe will have to serve as a guideline. I can tell you though the secret to a really awesome hummus recipe is have a hint of sourness. Lemon is the best and makes it so good!!! Oh, and a bit of paprika makes a pretty garnish!
1 clove garlic, freshly minced
2 cans garbanzo beans
2 tablespoons tahini sauce
1 teaspoon salt
black ground pepper to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 tablespoons lemon juice (or more! taste and tell)
Drain the beans and place in food processor (you can save a few for garnish, if you like). Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until thoroughly mixed.
Enjoy!
